A few days ago I took my parents and nieces to Chez Céline for a little mid-afternoon sweet time. I figure any time is a good sweet time, but thought I'd wait until afternoon to justify my chocolate needs. This little cafe is located at the far North end of 5th Street, almost in the Little Italy area. You can definitely feel a different vibe at this end

Blink! and She's in College...
My daughter, Taelyn, turned 6 months old today. Whew! 6 months! I was looking back at all her cuzillion pictures, and I can't believe how much she has grown. I know all parents say these things, but now I can relate to them so much more. I was never a baby person before. I was

Short Cozumel Trip...
Seth and I are always looking for different parts of the Yucatan that we may want to live. So we decided to go over and check out some Cozumel properties. The girls went along, of course, because they had never been to Cozumel. After looking at some condos with a real estate agent,

Pho...

I have to flash back to my Dallas visit to talk about Pho. Anyone who has watched Anthony Bourdain knows that man loves his Pho. Of course, since I'm an avid watcher, I had to get me a bowl at some point in my life. Such was my luck, Seth knew of a hole in the wall restaurant in

Texas Country...
We are back from our visit to the US. I had so much fun visiting my family, and it was extremely hard to say good-bye. Any expat will tell you that they may love where they live but being away from family is the hardest part of the journey. The one thing that seems to strike Seth and me the most when we go back is how big and over the top everything is in the US....the cars, the houses, the

Graduation Time...
While we were in the United States we went to my niece, Sarah's, high school graduation. This was quite a momentous occasion for everyone and the whole family was looking forward to seeing her walk down the aisle. You see, Sarah was in a horrible accident when she was 2 years old, and we celebrate everyday that she is with us. After multiple surgeries, 6 plates to reconstruct her skull, and endless physical therapy, she was able to relearn how to eat, walk, and talk all over again. Overtime, she was able to attend regular high school classes by herself without an aide, take tests, and participate in a work-study program. She is our own little miracle and ray of sunshine.
Of course, we had a little graduation party with all her friends from HEROES (Helping Everyone Reach Outstanding Educational Success) camp, high school, and

An Oklahoma State of Mind...
Although I moved away from Oklahoma City to Dallas after college, and I don't really see it as home anymore, it is still comforting to come back to my roots occasionally. My parents and grandparents still live here so of course, my sister and I make the 3 hour trek back every few months to see everyone.
I come from an OU family. I

Happy Birthday Dear Sister...
Today is my sister's birthday! I can't express enough how much she means to me. Jennifer is my best friend, my shoulder to lean on, my ear to yap off. I'm lucky because we've always been pretty close even when we were growing up, and I was that annoying little, bratty younger sister.
I'll never forget the time that she picked me up from school and had a surprise package for me. She had driven all the way across town to pick me up some acid washed Guess overalls for the skating party that I was going to that night! What 16 year old does that for her 12 year old sister? Mine does...and that, people, sums up exactly why
