As I mentioned earlier, Taelyn and I are going back to the US to visit family this week. We will be gone for 3 whole weeks! I'm super excited to see my family and friends, but poor little 'ol Seth has to stay here and work. Now, let me put the required disclaimer before my next statement. (He's making me). My husband is more than capable of taking care of himself. However, me being the dutiful overachieving wife that I am, I made dishes and froze them for almost every day I would be gone. Again, he knew how to cook before me, and he can cook for himself while I'm gone (again, required statement). **He
keeps saying this, but I have yet to see him cook anything. But we'll keep that to ourselves.**
Last time I left for a couple of weeks, I made him food for each day. It was more than enough to last him the entire time I would be gone. He ate all of it the first week and spent the last week eating peanut butter and jelly. <sigh>
I was pretty proud of myself on this set up. I made sure to give him some variety, but I didn't want to spend a week making all the food. My property manager was laughing because I wrote up a menu list so Seth knew what to eat. But that wasn't enough. Oh no! I made sure to give him a cheat sheet of each dish, and its corresponding container description. Just a wee bit anal. I know! I know! There is a total of 19 entrees and sides, 4 breakfasts, and 4 desserts to last him 21 days. I believe in my husband! I believe! He can make it last!
Some things on the menu:
- Pancakes
- Biscuits and Gravy
- Apple Pie
- Blueberry Muffins
- Mangolian Beef
- Spaghetti
- Enchilada Casserole
- Grilled Chicken and Mashed Potatoes
- Grilled Pork and Scalloped Potatoes
- Meatloaf and Potato Crisps (we are from Texas after all so every dish must have potatoes)
- Chicken Fried Rice
- Hamburgers
You are an incredible wife! That was so very sweet of you to make all of that before your trip! :)
