End of a Holiday...

Seth and I planned on going to Akumal for a date day about 2 weeks ago. I was all pepped and excited to hang on the beach and chill on a weekday since its much calmer than weekends. So on the morning of when I found out it was a public holiday celebrating Constitution Day, I was thinking about how packed the beach was going to be and debating whether we should change to another day. Well, I'm glad I didn't because we ended up having a great time, and the beach wasn't busy at all. It seems it was tourists day at Akumal and there were very few locals there at all. It seems all the Mexicans were celebrating the day off

Golf Course Fun...

After we got back from the freezing cold US, Seth and I decided to spend some time outside with Taelyn. The community we live in, Playacar, circles a beautiful golf course with beautiful grass (of course). Although, it has lots of sidewalks, the one thing it lacks is just plain 'ol grass for

Good Times...

It seems like my days are getting shorter and shorter. Taelyn sleeps in so much later now. We don't even get out the door for our morning walk until sometimes 9:15. Date Night on 5th Street...

As I had hoped, my wonderful mother-in-law babysat for us the other night so Seth and I could go on a date... a real honest to God date WITHOUT THE BABY! We both kept commenting how weird it was to walk hands free and not pushing a baby stroller or go through the mental necessities list. Because we live here, the street vendors and shop

5th Street...

I just love 5th Street! I know right now that I'm still wrapped up in the tourist side of Playa, but I think even those who have lived here for awhile still like to take a stroll down 5th occasionally. The street runs about 4 miles long from Playacar to the end of Playa with restaurants, shops, street food vendors, entertainment, and coffee shops to amuse even

On Our Evening Walk...

Because the baby is just a pinch colic in the evening, Seth and I have made it a habit to go on a walk so we don't loose our sanity or what is left of it. Its nice walking around the different neighborhoods of Playacar and seeing how each one is unique to itself even though we are all one big neighborhood of Playa. Last night, we walked through Playacar Phase 1 which is right on the beach and has the most beautiful and unique homes. We found ourselves roaming endlessly just enjoying the beach, houses, ruins, and surroundings. Before we knew it, two hours had
