Reef Club...
One of the benefits of living in Playacar is the use of the Reef Beach Club which is an all inclusive hotel inside Playacar that caters to the budget traveler who still wants to have it all. Honestly, if I were to do all inclusive, I'd probably go this route because it really is a nice hotel. They have two pools, restaurants, water activities, and a nice section of beach area. Seth and I

Last Days...
We are now on our last couple of days in Mexico. I've taken Taelyn to the US to stay with my family. It was so odd traveling back to Mexico without her. I only had my backpack and one suitcase that was filled with scrapbook supplies I muled back for a friend. I watched The Hunger

Evening Ride in Phase 1...
A week after Taelyn and I got back from the States, Mexico sprung forward, and we gained an hour. We love this because we have more daylight in the evening and can go out for rides and walks when its cooler. One night, we decided to ride over to Playacar Phase 1 which is right on

First Day at the Beach...
Maybe Seth and I were just a pinch over protective of Taelyn when it came to taking her to the beach. I don't know why? We aren't that way with anything else. She's climbing on something? Well I guess when she falls she'll learn. She's eating dirt? She'll realize it taste awful and stop. She put her hand in the door and closed it? Well I suppose she'll figure out that hurts. But when it came to the ocean, we became these over protective, fearful parents that wanted to wait until she was 40 or something.
One of my friends told me that her twins were going to the beach since they were 6 months. "So what if they eat sand. Everything comes out in the end ok, so it must be alright." We see Mexicans take their newborns to the beach all the time. Newborns! Its water, sand, and sun. All good healthy things

Fun Day in Cancun...
Now that Seth is not working every waking minute, we have so much more time to play again. I missed being able to just hop in the car and take a drive around to see things. Sunday, I wanted to drive to Cancun in order to see the bazaar at La Casa de Cultural. There was a jewelry maker that was going to be there that I specifically wanted to see to buy some Christmas presents. I'll tell you about her in another post because I just love her stuff! Besides seeing the jewelry, I was looking forward to just getting out

Date Day at the Beach...
What do a group of paramedics, one shouting diver, a diva, two policemen, and a topless woman have in common? Well, Akumal, of course! Seth and I spent the day at our favorite beach and from the moment we got there, it was almost like we were watching a movie. Funny

Lost but Not Forgotten...
As I was going through some of my pictures yesterday, I realized I had some pictures from the entrance of Akumal that have not been posted. If you haven't noticed, I kinda have a thing

Living at the Beach...
As I told you in my previous post, my nieces will be leaving soon so we are taking full advantage of some beach time. We went back to the same beach, pitched our umbrella, laid the matt, and chilled...ahhhhh.

Beach Bums...
With my nieces here for only a few more days, we've been soaking in the sun almost daily. We have visited a beach at the far North end of Playa that has public access and isn't usually too busy. There are a couple of restaurants off the water, but its pretty much a family picnic kind of

Just Can't Get Enough...
My parents arrived for a short vacation last Thursday. Super excited as I'm sure you know. So, of course, we had to take them to Puerto Morelos. As you know from my previous posts, I just love this little lazy fisherman's village. But, boy was it anything but lazy this past Saturday! Apparently, the Sprint Puerto Morelos Triathlon was scheduled for Sunday so this tiny

Snorkel in Puerto Morelos...
Since my nieces are here for the summer, we had to put snorkeling on the list. We had previously snorkeled in Cozumel and had a great time. However, from our last trip to Puerto Morelos, we absolutely fell in love with their water and wanted to give them a go. I contacted Wet Set Diving

Tulum- Part III...
Here is the final installment of this trip to Tulum. Hope you enjoyed looking at the pictures as much as I enjoyed walking around the grounds. I know to some, it may seem like just a bunch of rocks and buildings. However, for me, even with all us tourist walking around making our poses

Tulum- Part II...
There were just so many pictures of Tulum that I couldn't get them all in one post. So rather than have you all go though a million pictures, I decided to do multiple posts so you can choose if you want to keep looking. Most of these are more of the quirky side of Tulum. Who'd

Tulum...
Last Monday we took a little drive about 45 minutes from Playa to Tulum to see some of the larger Mayan ruins before my mother-in-law went home. Boy, were we surprised when we drove up! I have to say that Mexico has this tourist thing down because it looked like we were

Cozumel...
Seth and I have been so lucky to have my mother-in-law in town because we have gotten to go do things together without the baby. So of course, snorkeling was top on our list. Even though we've been many times, we still enjoy going as if it were the first time. Eventually, we will fit in
