I received an email from my nephew correcting me on one of my Christmas posts where I stated he was taking Tae Kwon Do. He is actually studying Karate. I so do apologize for my error and only hope that he may be able to forgive me when I miss spoke. Below is the e-mail that he sent me.

"Hey Kris I know I haven't talk to you in a long time.Sorry.So I need to tell you that I go to karate not Tie Qwon do.You do need to say karate because it is mixed marshal arts so it uses everything.The second thing I need to tell is that I have a two pack!I've had it since December.So today I found a line where my four pack is supposed to go!I am also an orange belt now.I tested on Sunday.That is all for now.By email me back."

Home Away from Home...

Kaiser's...

So, this is my last installment on my trip to Oklahoma. I know you all are devastated, but do not fret. Alas, I will return to Oklahoma/Texas in December, and I'm sure I will find more than enough to talk to you all about my lovely home states.

Kaiser's is an old fashioned soda fountain/restaurant that has been around since 1910 in the downtown area of Oklahoma City. My dad used to go there with his grandfather when he was a kid to get sodas and ice cream. Its gone through many changes over the years, but finally, the new owners have restored it to its original glory. 

Its located in the original part of downtown just a few blocks from Saint Anthony hospital. And more useless information for you but that's where your's truly (and my dad too) just happened to be born, My dad has worked there for over 45 years, and he is counting down the 11 months, 25

Pink Frenzy Continued...

 I've pretty much told you all you need to know about Pinkitzel's so the rest is pretty much just the remaining pictures I took. This place was pretty much every little girl's fairytale dream. Sorry, guys, I just don't think you all would get as much out of it as us, females. But who knows.

House of Glass...

Well I've been back home, Mexico, that it is for almost a week now. Hence, the complete total lack of silence from me. So much to do! So much to do! After taking one day of rest, two days of unpacking, 3 days of catching up with the husband, and 4 days of getting everything back to exactly the way I wanted it, I'm back in the game!

What Has Happened to Us?...

I'm not sure how many of you remember the Oklahoma City Bombing of the Murrah building in 1995, but I can tell you it is something I will never forget. I was 21 years old just living life like everyone else without a care in the world. One morning, all that changed as it did for most Oklahomans. Imagine a bomb so powerful that it shook the building I was working in over 25 miles away. Imagine a man filled with so much hate and anger that he killed 168 people including 19 children all because of his delusion of the mistreatment of the United States government. Its crazy to think about. Its crazy to imagine. It was crazy to live through that horrible time

Birds Gone Wild...

 Oklahomans are accustomed to birds passing through as they head for warmer weather down south. Apparently, some Canadian Geese decided they like the area so much they refuse to leave. My parents tell me its gotten so bad in this shopping center parking lot that they posted signs because little kids were getting attacked when they ran up to the geese.

Interesting? I don't know. But, I was humored by it none the less.

Oh Yum! Five Guys Burgers!...

One of the places always, always, always on my eat list when I visit the states is Five Guys Burgers. Yum! Yum! Yum! Seth and I like this place so much that we would drive 30 minutes out of our way when we lived in Dallas to eat there because there wasn't one near our home. When I was in my first trimester, oh boy! I went to Five Guys every week. I just couldn't get enough. I love the messy, sloppy, greasiness of their burgers. I love the kazillion of burger options you can create because they have over 17 toppings to choose from to layer on top of your burger. I love the spicy cajun fries with spices so strong

Once Upon a Child...

No, I'm not getting ready to tell you a fairytale. Well, I guess I could come up with some whimsical, cutesy way of telling you about this fantastic store, but I'm not that much of a dork. Ok, I am. I just don't give you all the full extent because I'm not sure if you're ready for my true dorkiness.

Anyway, so back to the point. Once Upon a Child (OUAC) is just the most fantastic store ever! I do mean EVER! For anyone who has had to buy baby needs like strollers, pack n' plays, toys, clothes, books, etc., you know how expensive this stuff can get. Well, that's where OUAC comes to play (pun intended). Here I am 13 days into my trip to Oklahoma/Texas and not a peep out of me! I have no excuses. None. Well, except that I've been crazy busy just enjoying hanging with my family and catching up with friends. I have been taking pictures, I hope that counts at least. I have to say that it has been fantastic seeing my family, but boy are Taelyn and I exhausted! We each catch naps whenever and wherever we can. I wish I had a swing like her to nap in while someone pushed me for over an hour! All Hail the Mighty State...

Anyone wanna guess where that line's from? Well, the Texas State song but of course. Seriously though, I had no clue. I was just looking for a title on my post and thought, "Hmmm...I wonder what are the lyrics to the Texas state song?" And well, there you go. Not originally being from Texas, I kinda chuckle a bit, and think, "Oh, Texas! There you go again!"

So, I'll be in Texas for 10 days visiting my sister and Texas friends. Then I'm off to Oklahoma to see my parents, grandparents, and Oklahoma friends. We are back from our visit to the US. I had so much fun visiting my family, and it was extremely hard to say good-bye. Any expat will tell you that they may love where they live but being away from family is the hardest part of the journey.

Graduation Time...

 While we were in the United States we went to my niece, Sarah's, high school graduation. This was quite a momentous occasion for everyone and the whole family was looking forward to seeing her walk down the aisle. You see, Sarah was in a horrible accident when she was 2 years old, and we celebrate everyday that she is with us. After multiple surgeries, 6 plates to reconstruct her skull, and endless physical therapy, she was able to relearn how to eat, walk, and talk all over again. Overtime, she was able to attend regular high school classes by herself without an aide, take tests, and participate in a work-study program. She is our own little miracle and ray of sunshine.

Although I moved away from Oklahoma City to Dallas after college, and I don't really see it as home anymore, it is still comforting to come back to my roots occasionally.
